It is also the first most-visited local site in Nigeria and the sole Nigerian website in the top 500 most-visited websites worldwide as of April 2020, according to a current listing by IABC Africa. The company was established by Ayo Ojuroye and Kunle Soname who are its CEO and chairperson respectively. In 2022, Bet9ja became the primary sponsor/partner of the Nigeria Professional Football League. The company was the main sponsor of the 2019 edition of Big Brother Naija.
